Will Batman Comic Book Fans Abandon The Dark Night?

Batman comic books have traditionally
attracted a more mature audience than some
of the other comic book series published by
Marvel or DC.

The Batman comic book fan base enjoyed the
darker and grittier story lines that could be
found inside.

Comic book art that truly
brought the reader a glimpse into what petty criminals must have felt when
they encountered Batman has long kept fans coming back for more.

Who can forget the war like portrayal of the Dark Night by
the acclaimed artist and writer Frank Miller in Batman Year One.

Or the Neal Adams Batman version that severed the character
to any connection to more happier days.

The latest Batman movie has done justice to the
image that Batman comic book fans expect.

But the lingering question is, as Batman becomes further
commercialized, will the Batman comic book series
enjoy its artistic independence, or will it succumb to
the commercialization demands of Hollywood?
